The Patchwork effect creates an image that appears to be stitched using needle and thread. The small squares of color that result are shadowed to depict varying depths.
Square Size
Move the slider to the right to make the patches larger and to the left to make them smaller.
Relief
Move the slider to the right to increase the amount of embossing and to the left to decrease the amount of embossing.
Tips
• After applying the Patchwork effect, you can get even more of a needlepoint look by using the Texturizer effect with a fabric texture (for example, Canvas or another scanned cloth texture).
• You can isolate or better define features of the final image by first increasing the image’s contrast with the host program’s brightness and contrast controls, and then applying the Patchwork effect. When the image contrast is increased, large areas of the final image will be flat and not show any of the 3D surface patches characteristic of the Patchwork effect.
